You’ll have the equivalent of a healthy sized meal. The progressive meal will be spread out over 2-3 hours, at 5 or 6 locations.  Each tour includes 1 alcoholic beverage and at least 1 non alcoholic beverage.  I assure you, you will not go home hungry!

We generally try to be accommodating, although not every tour has a substitute for every dietary restriction.  The Vibrant Kerns Hood tour can be made gluten free, alcohol free and vegetarian.  The Bustling Buckman Hood tour can be made gluten free, alcohol free and vegetarian.  The Brunch on Mississippi tour can be made alcohol free, vegetarian and all but one stop gluten free.

If you have additional dietary concerns, email us at [email protected] or call us at (541) 683-5403 and we will see what we can do.  But please be aware that substitutions cannot be made the day of the tour.

No.  The selections are well curated so the experience will unfold like a progressive meal.  Starting with a salad, ending with dessert, and all sorts of yummy things in between.  If you have dietary restrictions or preferences, please check with us before hand to see if we can accommodate you.  Substitutions cannot be made the day of the tour.

A food tour has 1.0 to 1.5 miles of walking.  We walk at a comfortable pace, so we can enjoy and talk about the city.  And the walking is spread out between our different stops.  Please wear appropriate footware.

Welcome to Oregon, the land of liquid sunshine! Seriously though, if rain is predicted, the tour will go on and you are welcome to bring an umbrella and appropriate foot ware.

Food tours generally range from 2-10 people.  Groups will always be small enough that we can provide a personalized experience to each guest.  Customized and private tours can be arranged for a larger group.

Tours run with at least 2 people.  If the minimum is not met, we will reach out and offer you an alternative date, or a refund.

Portland by Mouth is committed to being an extraordinary civic citizen.  Because we love the city of Portland, and want to see it thrive.  And, well, as they say – you need to be in the world what you want to see in the world!

We provide a competitive pay to our guides.  In fact, we pay 28% more than what is currently considered a living wage in Portland.  This way, our guides are happy and excited to lead you on a fabulous food tour.

Our restaurant partners are small businesses and always locally owned.  Portland has so many innovative and enterprising restaurateurs.  And we proudly promote them.

Some food tour companies negotiate prices at restaurants they visit.  Portland by Mouth considers our restaurants to be our partners and we pay full price and tip the servers 20%.  When we visit local shops and give guests an opportunity to pick up a souvenir, we never receive a kickback.  We simply love to show them our support.

Portland by Mouth donates 1% of our pre-tax profits to Transition Projects, who for the last 53 years, has fulfilled its mission to help individuals experiencing homelessness, transition to being housed.  We also donate food tours to a broad array of auctions that support all types of local causes.

Thank YOU for participating in our tour, and supporting the local community while you taste and learn, and traveling in a responsible and sustainable way!
